Need Help -- "I'm Bored"

Help!! My 11 yr. old daughter came to me today very sincerely and asked if I had any ideas of what she could do when she was "bored". She is quickly out-growing her "toys" (which of course makes me sad). I sat down with her and we made a list, but actually it was relatively short. She also wanted to know some ideas for when her friends come over. She said they sit and wonder what they should do. Does anyone have any great ideas? I would love any help you might have. Thanks in advance!

do you have a digital camera she can use? if so, she could do photo essays and such. or even claymations (with a bit of software and know-how...ask me if you're interested).

does she like music? perhaps borrow a guitar to learn on? the simple chords arent hard to learn, and most praise songs (and pop songs, for that matter) use just a couple simple chords. I can point you to some resources if you'd like.

She could bake something or cook a meal with friends. I think it's even more fun to get cook books from the library and try out new stuff.

When I was her age, my mom bought me old prom dresses from Goodwill (that were of course way too big for me) and my friends and I would play dress-up in these dresses for hours!! The best was when we got an old wedding dress once. And of course we would walk all over the neighborhood in our "beautiful outfits". I am sure we looking slammin'! LOL.

How about starting her own blog? Teddy has one, though we have not done anything for a while (his lack of typing skills drove us both crazy). We have a digital camera and he added pictures. He has done stop-action movies with the camera, too (I'd like to know which software to use with them, Bob). HTH.

Thanks so much for the ideas and suggestions. Bob, I will let you know if she is interested in the claymations.

My 13 yr old is ALWAYS bored. Even when he is doing fun stuff he says he is bored, but my 8 yr old daughter seems to enjoy things like playing online games, scrapbooking, cooking, painting, and tying to learn music. I think the most creative and easiest way for her to express herself is through scrapbooking. Might want to try it out.
